Hello, Thank you for this post! I’ve been using Hostmonster for over a year and have 50 sites on it. I’ve only had one issue and I was able to chat online and had my problem fixed within 15 minutes.

There are many options as to what you’ll going to use as your host. But for me I’m at ease to word press. Aside from it’s a hosting friendly, it has also a lot of plugins that really makes your blog user friendly.

With HostGator and other shared hosting services, you can expect erratic service – it all depends on how busy their servers are. Before I picked a host, I’d want to check out a few of their highly customized WP customer sites.

Many people ague which platform is better. Is it blogger or Worddpress? For me its WordPress because there more thing I can do with wordpress and plugins that can enhance the usability of a blog.

Hey thanks a lot for this post. I’ve been trying to do a bit of research on wordpress friendly hosts. Many people seem to be recommending host gator. I’m a bit skeptical of these shared solutions, based on all of the horror stories I’ve read, but I guess we all have to start somewhere… =)

There really are a lot of hosting options and a lot of factors in deciding which one to go with. For a wordpress blog you don’t really need anything too flash so you can find something inexpensive. It all depends on what exactly you want to achieve though.

Hi Trisha, The answer to your question is no. The fact that a web hosting provider uses cPanel has nothing to do with whether or not that web hosting provider is WordPress friendly. CPanel is a management system which includes the ability to install WordPress quickly and easily. This ability can be found whether the hosting provider is WordPress friendly or not.

The problem with web hosting providers who are not WordPress friendly occurs after installation when you try to use the WordPress interface to edit files. This is due to how the user permissions have been setup on the server being used and assigned to you by the web hosting provider.

I have used both a WordPress friendly web hosting provider and one that is not WordPress friendly. Both web hosting providers provided cPanel.
