What’s Shame Got To Do With It?

I received an email from Perry Marshall the other day inviting me to view a YouTube video he has posted on his website that delves into the role shame plays in our lives and how it can hold us back from reaching our full potential. This TedxTalks video features Dr. Bren Brown, who is a researcher professor at the University of Houston.

In this video, Dr. Brown breaks down her journey to discover the role that shame plays in our lives. What is shame all about and what is the difference between those of us that are held back by shame and those of us that have moved beyond the restrictions that shame places on lives.

Dr. Brown makes connections between shame and many issues that people find in their lives, connections that I personally would never have made. For some of you, watching this video may be the best 20 minutes you spend this year. For others, it may provide one of those ah ha moments. Most that watch this video will never think of shame in the same way again.

Sit back, get comfortable and enjoy.

To Your Success,

Shame is not that bad. Sometimes it makes us realize what we lack and what we want. We can always make efforts and get everything in life. It’s never too late.

Hi Simon. I could never perceive shame in the great way that you did. Thanks for this enlightening comment. I would try to perceive my shame positively now onwards.
