A signature line is a helpful tool for an online business owner who is trying to build a business. Even so, many overlook the importance of this tool and fail to add a signature line because their name is already visible in an emails header information.

When you were learning how to write a letter in school, you were taught to include a salutation at the end of the letter, along with your name. In the online world of electronic communication, this is referred to as a signature line. If you have not been using yours, you may be losing an opportunity to gain some free website promotion.

Next, you can add another link if you have a blog or another website. If a business has developed a tagline as part of their brand, it would be included on the line following the website link in “quotations”.

Signature lines are not static. Just because you have made one signature line, doesn’t mean that you can not use others or even change the one you have.

Changing your signature line periodically will keep it fresh and interesting and provide you with a venue with which you are able to alert others to anything new and exciting you may be doing. If you create a new website, make sure you add it to your signature line so that others can check it out.

Add a signature line to your mobile phone for text messages. Most people will add in their personal signature, but will not think of adding their website information as well. If you deem it appropriate given the use of your mobile phone, feel free to add your website URL as well.

Social networking sites are another venue where you may have the opportunity to use your best signature lines. Every little bit counts when it comes to finding ways to promote your website for free, so check it out and see if a signature line is allowed on the social networking sites you are using.

While it may not be easy to come up with a tag line right off the bat to brand you and your website, a signature line is easy to do. If you are not using one, you may be missing out on a method to increase website traffic, so get busy and add a signature line wherever it is permitted.
