Learning Niche Marketing - Finding Your Perfect NicheLearning niche marketing begins with finding your perfect niche. When it comes to the possible niche choices there are literally millions of possibilities to chose from. Out of those possibilities, you need to find the one that is the best fit for you.

In this post, we are going to cover some basic tips to help you find a niche that you will love. If you love what you do, it is so much easier to maintain your focus and get through the less lovable promotional aspects and develop something that will produce a profit for you for years to come.

Ok, pencils ready? Let’s Do Some Brainstorming!

The first step towards finding your perfect niche is to sit down at your computer, or with pen and paper in hand, and do a bit of brainstorming. This is where you let your brain waves go wild as you write down all of the things that spark the passion in you.

Some people will feel most comfortable with sticking with things they have actually done, while others may find that this process opens up an opportunity for them to delve into an area that they have always wanted to do. Still, a few of you may still may find it hard to get started with this process, so here are some ideas to get the old thought processes moving in the right direction.

The possibilities really are endless. For instance, I learned once, on a remodeling site, that when cutting a piece of plywood you had to take into consideration the width of the saw blade. It didn’t help me with my inability to cut a straight line, but that is another story. From this list you are going to learn how to identify the niche that is perfect for you.

I am going to choose make-up as my passion. This is just an example and those that really know me would fall down laughing at the thought. But, this is about you learning niche marketing and not my lack of expertise with a mascara brush. So using the example of make-up, let’s break down this passion into a niche that may be great for you.

Sub-Niching For Greater Results

Make-up is a very far-reaching and competitive niche. So instead of spending our time trying to beat out the heavy hitters, let’s niche down and look for smaller, less competitive sub-niches within the make-up niche:

Do you see where this is going? There are thousands of sub-niches related to the make-up niche and to any other niche for that matter.

Somewhere in one of those smaller niches you will find that the perfect niche for you is just waiting for you to claim it. It will be the one that instantly captures your attention and the one that you have the most knowledge about or are passionate about learning more on. Obviously, if it is something you will need to learn, the homework and learning will need to be done before you launch, but what a wonderful reason to learn.

The focus required in niche marketing means you definitely need to have a passion for the niche of your choice along with a good base of knowledge and the willingness to learn more. These are the things that will keep you going when lack of motivation kicks in or something else appears to distract you. Every niche marketer runs into this from time to time.

Once You Have Found Your Perfect Niche

Once you completed the process of finding your perfect niche, the next step will be to visualize how you will market your niche and who your audience will be. This will help you when it comes time to choose a name and design for your website or blog.

Sticking with the make-up theme, let’s say for instance that you have picked the make-up for dark complexions sub-niche. Who would your audience be? Is there possibly an even narrower niche within it? Tanning booths and hair salons come to mind. You might want to focus your advertising on websites, forums or online stores, etc. that cater to tanning or hair salon audiences.

Learning niche marketing is a process as is learning about any other topic that interests you. The most successful niche marketers thoroughly research their niche and define the intended audience as specifically as is possible to make the most out of the time and effort they will put into it.
